Ethnic Hair Loss

Hair loss is daunting to any individual. It increases stress levels and makes hair loss even more pronounced. If only there were hair growth products that could weave their magic and make your hair grow back again to its lustrous and dense state – this is the dream of everyone who has experienced hair loss.

The good news is that there are umpteen number of hair growth products out in the market. The bad news is that most of them don’t seem to work and appear to be money spinners for some kind of unethical businesses. In fact, most of them are not even validated by appropriate medical agencies. Usage of such hair growth products may not even be advisable since there may be adverse effects that we may know nothing of. Take care lest hopes suddenly turn into nightmares.

So, what is the solution? Where can good hair growth products be found? How to find them? Do they work at all? And do they cost a fortune? Numerous questions and the answers to some of them at least are positive.

First in the list of hair growth products are Finasteride and Minoxidil. Both of them are FDA approved in the USA. Finasteride is ingestible whereas Minoxidil is topically applied on the scalp. Finasteride and Minoxidil have been touted as excellent hair growth products though it appears that the former is more effective than the latter. Finasteride requires a prescription too though Minoxidil does not require any. However, the probable reason among others that Finasteride requires a prescription is because it has side effects that are sexual in nature.

Provillus also belongs to hair growth products and essentially offers nutritional backing for existing hair. It also supports growth of new hair. It does this through a mixture of ingredients and contains a vitamin complex that strengthens your immune system which has the cascading effect of increasing hair growth.

Rogaine and Propecia are also options though they have side effects. Propecia is prescription based and only for men. When used in women, it has side effects in the development of sex organs of unborn, male babies. It works by reducing levels of testosterone metabolite, DHT, in the scalp that is normally associated with hair loss. Rogaine works by expanding, blood vessels in the scalp and near hair follicles. Thus more oxygen and perhaps nutrients are able to reach the hair follicle and stimulate growth. Its side effects include drop in blood pressure levels of those who are taking it leading to dizziness, swollen ankles and feet and even cause kidney stones.

Of course, natural solutions have minimal and may be nil side effects for hair growth. These are to maintain a good healthy diet and lifestyle free of tension and stress levels. Additionally, take good care of your hair. Avoid pulling out your hair or scrubbing it vigorously. If treatment is being provided for a disease, then if all goes well, hair growth should recur once certain medications are discontinued.
